"The difference, in the end, between wishing and hoping is the fact that anyone can wish for something… it takes no effort and if it does not happen, then that person has not lost anything. Hoping on the other hand requires the person to actual work to make it happen. It takes effort, time, prayer, etc…. The challenge with hoping for something is that, if it does not happen, we are often left with disappointment, even dispair. The stronger person though can rise up from disappointment and live again. Thus hope gives us our humanity while wishing is nothing more than mind games and excuses."
